Instructions and Helpful Hints for Using

TOOL KIT and SPEC MATCH

ELECTRONIC CATALOG

The Electronic Catalog offers three types of search methods: by Series, Spec MatchTM or browsing.

  1. Search by Series. If you know the Leach product series number, select from the pull-down menu list and click GO. Then click on the series hyperlink.
  2. Spec MatchTM Parametric Search. If you want to search for relay products that meet your specific design requirements, use the Guided Search or Advanced Search formats.
  3. Browse Catalog Contents. If you do not know the series number, browse the product categories Table of Contents and hyperlink to the data sheet.

GUIDED SEARCH is a structured approach. First, select (by highlighting) a Leach product from the main category screen, e.g. "RELAY_LATCH." Click the GO button. A series of individual subcategory screens will present other product attributes such as FORM (Contact Configuration/Form), LOAD (Nominal Resistive Load), COIL (Coil/input), and SERIES (Series). When prompted, make your selection. You can display the results at any time by clicking on either of the SHOW RESULTS buttons (list or column view). For a description of these format options, refer to the Formatting Search Results section. To view a data page, click on the hyperlink series number, then the individual page numbers. To print a data sheet page, right click on the page (not on a drawing or photo), then select the browser PRINT icon. Repeat the process for each page you want to print.

ADVANCED SEARCH is a "free-form" approach for those more familiar with Leach products and characteristics. You may begin your search in one of three ways.

  • Search by Descriptions
Begin by selecting an attribute from any pull-down menu. (Note: A subcategory pull-down menu may contain several different attribute groupings.) Click the GO button. The product attributes will readjust and present only the relevant options pertaining to your selection. Refine your search by clicking on another attribute. If you find a dash " --" in a menu, select from another pull down menu or select the SHOW SEARCH RESULTS button and view the results of your search.

  • Search by Properties
The HTML query form will allow you to specify property values found in the documents by selecting them from the property menus. You can select one property and enter minimum and maximum values from each menu. The menus are labeled Search by Property #1, #2, and #3. After a property has been selected, and a desired minimum and maximum value entered, click the GO button to perform the query.
  • Search by Descriptions and Properties
The HTML query form will allow you to specify a combination of product key words and property values. Select a key word from a pull-down menu and click the GO button. Then select a feature shown in the Search by Property #1, #2, or #3 sections. Enter a minimum and maximum value from the range indicated. Click the GO button to perform the search. Then further refine your search as necessary.

FORMATTING SEARCH RESULTS

You can control how the SEARCH RESULTS will be displayed in any search by selecting list or column view options.

    • LIST view (Show List View)
The LIST options will display your search results in a list format. To view a data sheet for a particular product, click on the hyperlink series number.
    • COMPARISON view (Show Data View)
The COMPARISON or Data View option will display your search results in a column of four descriptions per page with a set of properties shown side by side. To view a particular data sheet page, click on the appropriate hyperlink column number.
